This blog is way overdue. I apologize for my tardiness, but I have been extremely busy lately. Back in March, I once again went to visit our wounded soldiers at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. I can’t even begin to express how inspirational these young men and women were to me. At a time when there’s not much in the news to make you proud to be an American, these young soldiers made me beam with pride. These are the young men and women who we have trusted to keep us safe here at home, and to do that, they don’t hesitate to put EVERYTHING on the line. They are willing to fight and die for what they believe in and for their families, as well as for us. Contrast that with all the politicians who are only interested in gaining power and protecting their jobs, not at the expense of themselves or their lives, but our expense!!!
I spoke with a young man in his twenties, who is a double amputee. He lost both of his legs to a roadside bomb. I was telling him what a hero he is to me, and he said this. “I’m not the hero, the heroes are all the soldiers who fought in Vietnam. They didn’t come home to a hero’s welcome. They came home to being spit on and cursed. The technology gained during that war has paved the way for the prosthetics we are benefiting from today.” He then shared with me that he prays for all of those who went before him. Here is a kid, a kid without both of his legs, telling me who he is praying for!!!! WOW! It is humbling to say the least.walter_reed_national_military_medical_center_logo
With that said, I burn with rage as I see what is being reported about the gross mistreatment of our vets! Wake up America!! Wake up and rise up! What have you sacrificed lately for your country? We need to let all the politicians in Washington D.C. know that we won’t let this go unpunished. People responsible for this need to lose their jobs, and in some cases, I’d say they need to be put in jail. It is disgusting to think we would so grossly abuse those who have put their lives on the line to protect us!! If we let this go, if we don’t rise up and let our voices be heard, then shame on us for our selfishness.
It’s hard to say, but, God bless America! It’s hard to say because we have kicked Him out of our schools, places of business, and just about every place you can think of. So why should He bless us???
WAKE UP AMERICA!!!
TO ALL OF OUR MEN AND WOMEN IN UNIFORM, THANK YOU FOR YOUR COURAGE AND WILLINGNESS TO PUT EVERYTHING ON THE LINE TO KEEP US SAFE AND FREE!!
